About CCAPC

Problems range from low USACO Bronze to high USACO Gold. Two divisions — Beginner and Advanced — so the contest is accessible to everyone.

Two Divisions

Beginner
For competitors new to contest programming. Recommended for everyone else.
Advanced
For experienced competitors who want a real challenge. Recommended for Codeforces 1500+ / high USACO Silver and above.

Format

3.5 hours, teams of up to 3, in a private Codeforces group. 12 problems per division, weighted equally and ranked by penalty.

What you can use

All coding languages supported by Codeforces. Pre-written templates and online resources are allowed; AI assistance on problems is not.

The actual contest is from 9:30am – 1:00pm. Held in person at Canyon Crest Academy, 5951 Village Center Loop Road, San Diego, CA 92130.

Rules

  1. 01Internet usage is allowed — you may look at helpful resources online.
  2. 02Pre-written code (templates) are allowed.
  3. 03You may copy code from the internet that was written prior to the start of the competition.
  4. 04Teams of up to 3 are allowed.
  5. 05The AI policy is adopted from Codeforces.
  6. 06No using AI to help on problems in any way, besides autocomplete and translation between spoken languages (not programming languages).
  7. 07No communicating with other teams during the competition to gain an advantage.
  8. 08You may communicate within your own team and share code.
  9. 09All submissions must be made during the 3.5 hour window.
  10. 10In the case of technical issues, please contact an organizer.
  11. 11Use common sense.
  12. 12Breaking rules may result in disqualification.

    William is a sophomore at CCA. He is in the USACO silver division. Outside of programming he enjoys playing video games and some competitive math.

    Smaran is a sophomore at CCA and has been interested in coding from a young age. He is in the USACO Silver division. Outside of the USACO series, he enjoys competing in college competitions like CALICO and MITIT. Smaran’s favorite areas of coding are number theory and greedy algorithms. Aside from coding, he enjoys math, guitar, and chess.
